Hi, situation is:

Had 30,000/200Gb pic Photos Library exactly as I wanted it, lots of albums I had created.

Turned on iCloud Photos, (keep originals on local)

Photos uploaded to iCloud and iPhone, but all my albums had disappeared.

Repaired the library (alt+cmd)....still no albums.

Now I am planning to restore from a Time Machine backup from before turning on iCloud i.e. when my albums were present.

Question: Should I clear out Photos from iCloud before restoring from back up?.....or will the restored library merge with what is already in iCloud, avoiding duplicates and putting back my albums?

My instinct is to clear out iCloud Photos before restore, which I think I can do from iCloud.com

Any other advice most welcome.

Thanks
