I know this has most likely been answered numerous times but I unfortunately don't have the time to search. I am selling my macbook pro on craigslist and was wondering how one would do a clean install before hand off. I remember last time I did a clean install it asked for the Apple ID that had the OS purchased. Since it has been upgraded to Yosemite won't my Apple ID be linked to it when I try and reinstall it? What would I need to do to ensure that when I do hand over my computer that my personal data is completely off the computer?

restart while pressing cmd + r, itll bring up the recovery menu and from there you can format your drive in disk utility and then reinstall a fresh copy of OS X
