Clearing Hard Drive

Ok well I'm thinking of buying a Macbook Pro for video editing and such and have a few questions.

1) After using Migration Assistant will I be able to run Final Cut Express, Word, etc. on the new macbook pro and the macbook?

2) If I do a "clean install" of the Macbook will the HD be totally erased and able to sell?

You'll want to format and do a clean install. Additionally, you should consider using Disk Utility to zero the hard drive before you install. This should ensure that any of your private data left on the drive is irretrievable by the common user.
