Clearing my "recent pictures"

So how do I do it? I was taking some goofy pictures (for my login icon) one evening and now I cannot figure out how to delete them. When I use a chat service like Adium and I click on my icon, then choose icon, the image picker comes up and they are sitting right there as one of my recent pictures. What I am seeking to do is clear them all.

Isn't there a little "x" next to all of the photos?

if it's from Isight, just click on the picture you want to delete so that it appears in the viewer and hit the backspace button and it deletes them. hope this helps.
