Hello, I have a MacBook Air 2012. My trackpad was working, but now o can’t use the physical click. It just don’t work.. it’s not stuck, I can hear and fell the click, but in the system it’s not working.. only the “touch” even before log in I can’t use the physics click. I click but nothing happen.. anyone with the same problem or with a solution?
Thank you.

I don't know if you are still looking for a solution, but I have had the same problem in the past. Had been using the tap for so long that I didn't really notice the click problem until I was re-installing OSX and couldn't click anything..

If you are up to it, opening up the bottom case (careful with the screws so as to not strip them..), and adjusting the screw located in the middle lower position seems to work for a lot of people, including myself.

YMMV and proceed at your own risk when opening the case, but this is what fixed it for me.

If uncomfortable, I would suggest you take it to your local Apple Store.

Once you rule out software-try a restore and a swollen battery, you can replace the pad with a used one. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Air+13-Inch+Mid+2012+Trackpad+Replacement/10962

They wear out. I replaced the pad on my 2011 MBP. The pad would click but require a great deal of pressure to register. Put a new one in and all is well. Note, there is an adjustment screw that you can adjust the click part somewhat but if you hear the click, the pad is probably shot(or a lesser chance is battery is swollen)
