Hi guys,

I'm running Snow Leopard and using Safari 5.0.5 on my MBP. I clicked a link and the website started to open up in a new tab. A phishing warning popped up saying that the website's URL contained login information and asking if I wanted to continue or "go back". I pressed "go back" and the tab closed. Should I be concerned about security as a result of this incident?

No, as long as you didn't enter any information. Phishing sites are only a threat if you are fooled into giving up personal information.

Thanks - I didn't even see what the site looked like, so didn't enter anything. Just clicked the link from twitter (couldn't see the full link because it was shortened) and got the pop up/warning as it was opening up in the new tab. It said the URL already contained log-in information though? So that made me nervous even though I clicked "go back".

You're safe. Nothing to worry about.
