Clicking external hdd

For about a month now my Toshiba hard drive has been randomly clicking. The clicking is gone when the hard drive is being written to, but comes back when its idle.

I've copied everything off of it, but I'm beginning to wonder if the clicking is normal. Should I be worrying about it?

Not normal for most drives.
