Clicking Issues with Trackpad

I'm current running OSX 10.7.2 and have been having issues with the trackpad basically since I installed Lion MONTHS ago. The clicking, both left and right, dragging, etc. is very sporadic and non-responsive. I have to click or tap multiple times before it actually fulfills the command. Any thoughts?
