Clicking on Google Image thumbnails = nothing

Hi,
I appear to be unable to open the thumbnail images from google image search results.
I can save them by pressing Crtl and clicking on the thumbnail. This only saves the thumbnail tho.
I am using Safari, imac, Yosemite.

They do open in Firefox.
I just want to know why they no longer open in Safari.
If I have to switch browsers I will.
