For the past few weeks my iMacs HDD gave me a mighty big click when it booted up and this morning it gave a series of clicks and a question mark folder.
Bugger!

After a few boot up attempts I've managed to boot into XP and I'm about to back the whole thing up. Ordered a new drive that should be here later today. But gawd almighty it gave me a shock. Mostly because all my works on the thing and the backups are a couple of weeks old.

But how should I go about transferring my files and stuff to a new drive? I want a 1:1 duplicate (though the new drive is 500gb opposed to 160gb) of both the OSX and XP partitions so I can just get back to work once the new drive is installed.

(now I have to find out how to replace the HDD on a white C2D iMac, great)

Done and dusted but I'm just wondering how other folk here handle this kind of situation.

hurry up with whatever you're gonna do cause that drive isnt gonna last much longer
