So I've had my MacBook Pro since 2009 and have been nothing but satisfied with it up until last month. My computer wouldn't turn on or charge, so after some searching I found a way to fix it by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. That worked both times it happened. I hadn't had any problems since until last night I was reading on my kindle app and suddenly my computer just shut down randomly. I was able to start it back up instantly and didn't have a problem for the next half an hour before I went to bed.
When I woke up the next morning it had turned itself off again. It repeatedly did this while using it through out the day. I decided it may be a problem with the new RAM I installed back in February, so replaced it with my old RAM and did a PRAM reset. I didn't have an issue for a while, then it shut itself down again. So I tried an SMC reset. So far it has not done it again, but I checked the console to see what was up and I continually get this message: "Client application bug: DNSServiceResolve(Brother\032MFC-8480DN._pdl-datastream._tcp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network."
Could this be related to the problem I'm having with the computer randomly shutting down? Any thoughts or ideas?
