When you holiday, do you look more for a place which will offer you a
deep and fascinating culture, or the
perfect weather for relaxing, sun-bathing, surfing, or whatever?

Can't say I ever "holiday" and haven't for years

But for me... it would be more about the "who" and less about the "where"

I guess it depends, I'm not a fan of the sun so I don't plan "holidays in the sun". But I am hella interested in my family roots and the countries culture which just so happen to be in a warm place (at least warmer than England) so I end up getting both.

Culture for me, I guess.

Depends, really.

I recently went to Austin and had a great time out there but didn't care for the climate. On the flipside, Hawaii is awesome yet some areas the culture is too laid back for me with not enough to do.

Assuming that not going with culture doesn't necessarily mean nasty people everywhere I turn, I'm going with climate.

I go on vacation to relax, not brush up on some culture I can read about on Wikipedia. Any culture I'd be interested in actually experiencing (Scotland, Australia) the climate and natural elements would guarantee I go there anyway.
