Clip in Battery Compartment

There is a little clip in the battery compartment of my 15" AlPB. There is even a diagram showing how to pull it out...anybody know what this is?

good idea...was thinking of it...but the digicam was out of batteries

Airport slot? I own a 12" PB so i wouldnt know whats what on a 15
