I am wondering if others have seen some odd behavior with the alarm in the Clock app on an iPad Pro?

on my iPhone- if I set an alarm, if sounds loudly no matter if it is in foreground, background, or background and device is locked.

On iPad Pro, i have found this:
- setting up alarm, test it, volume is loud. Volume and sound settings are up.
- if I leave alarm app in foreground, alarm sounds loud.
- if I leave alarm in foreground and lock iPad, alarm sounds loud.
- if alarm is in background - whether iPad is on Home Screen or in another app, either locked, or unlocked, alarm sounds extremely faint!

so I have to have the alarm app in foreground to hear it, which is far feom idel. I have tried restarting iPad, different alarm, no Improvement.

what might be going on here?

Have you tried a hard reset (not to be confused with a regular reset)?

Good thought, thanks - I had not, I just tried a hard reset, same problem. But I have learned some more. Here is what I did.

I went into Alarm - set the time for a minute later. I clicked on the sound, and then tapped it so it played. I pressed the up volume rocker to increase the volume of the alarm, which it did - now this is the key - I pressed the up volume until volume was maybe one slight notch away from the highest setting - the horizontal bar was full.

I then exited the alarm app, just clicked the button in the top-right edge, to lock the iPad and blank the screen, and waited. The alarm sounds, very soft.

So I go back into the alarm, edit the alarm, click on the alarm sound and while it's playing, I press the volume up - the horizontal bar starts with the volume set very low, maybe at 1/4 or 1/5 of full volume!

I press the volume up to full, try again - same thing happens - alarm sounds low, go back in, and find the volume has actually been MOVED to a low setting.

Why is this happening?
