Hey all. I'm sure this topic has been covered. I ran a search and there was a thread made in 2008 about this. I just wanted an updated opinion 3 years later.

Just bought my second iPhone (4S) recently. Last time I had one was the 3GS. I was wondering if these alarm clock apps that leave the screen on all night will, in time, have an affect on the battery life of the phone or screen? IE: The app draining battery / phone being plugged in charging battery for 7 - 8 hours a night? Screen issues with pixels?

Any input? Any suggestions on alarm clock apps? I tried the Clock app that Apple has implemented and I wasn't impressed. :/

Screen on = Using battery, all night, will drain battery, yes.

You can lock the phone with the alarm app open and the alarm will still go off. I use hard awakening and after a few seconds the screen goes black and has the alarm info in white lettering.
