iPod touch Clock Bug Error?

Last Night (New Years Eve), I fired up my clock app to see what time it was in New York and Berlin. I noticed this [check attachement]. It says the date as 07/12/31, which I guess means in US language 12/31/07. Question is, New Years already happened so shouldnt the day be 08/01/01?
