So, I have my new MBP 2011 and it works great, only problem is the clock which in Time Machine always says latest backup is (something):08 and in Plex always only updates full hours and keeps the minutes at :08.

What happens is that I check Time Machine for latest backup and at 10:04 it says latest backup was at 10:08... And I watch something in Plex and it says the time is 10:08 at 10:04 (or at 10:59 for that matter).

Anyone else experienced this? Know how to fix it?

I don't use Windows/Bootcamp etc., only OSX.

I have MRoogled.

Finally, the easy solution!

Go into System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Formats
Click the "Customize" button in the "Times" section

Ensure that all in the "Short" entry that the minutes field is not hard coded to "08" but instead shows a blue button with a "08" variable. If it isn't, simply drag the minutes button into this field and remove the hard coded value!

Restart your computer to ensure all applications get this update.

I have no clue to how this got hard coded in the first place. Hope someone else finds this helpful!
