Hi all,

I have seen comments indicating Clockology watch faces eat more battery than the stock Apple watch faces.

Can anyone advise if this is because of the app itself, or because many Clockology faces are bright in appearance thus requiring more of the screen to be lit and more battery to be consumed? i.e. would a black Clockology face consume as much battery as a black Apple face? Or more?

Thanks!

I've had this app on my Series 4 for about 2 years, no question this watch app, and faces drain the battery more. Some faces MUCH worse than others.

I've seen a few with video loops (Super Mario running, Pac Man game screen face, even a Series 7 Contour for the older watches.) These are using .MOV files in the watch face itself, so it will be battery heavy. The more animation, gears...sun/moon phases, the more it seems battery it uses. If you have something simple like a Hermes static image (or Tag, Nike, other brands), the usual moving hands, nothing crazy...the drain is there but not as severe.

This app did get a major overhaul earlier Monday (Aug 1), big update. Whew...and it's not a fun update at all. After playing around, it is possible to get your watch faces back..just have to start over. But some of the faces get completely messed up when importing / syncing.
