clone external HD using disk utility in lion

I know there are plenty other threads about this. I did successfully clone my external time machine HD in the past however in Lion i just cant do it!

i select the restore tab. choose the source but when i try to drag the 1tb hd into the "destination" it doesnt work! it doesnt stay there nor there is a + button showing.

im stuck!

any ideas?

btw, i did a proper guid partition on my 1tb hd.
