i cloned my mbp hard drive, and after my MP crashed, i restored it by cloning its drive from my mbp drive. I run 10.5.7. The MBP that i cloned from, was using the laptop version of 10.5, but i havent run into any problems. How can I test it on my MP to make sure it is stable?

I have done exactly the same thing this week, please search for my post, I ended up doing a fresh install and then a small migration, I suggest you do the same, bootcamp and fusion caused the biggest issues, but then I found problems with users, duplication, etc, some of that could be down to multiple HDDs but I felt it was for the best, all fine now

It almost certainly won't be stable. There are been a lot of posts in the laptop forums about people moving from one MBP to a different model, etc. There are often conflicts with hardware specific to each machine (I've had personal experience too). I know it's annoying, but in the end you'll want to do a fresh install and then migrate your data over...
