Is there any way to clone a users settings in osx? I want to make a profile similar to my administrator and keep the majority of settings, but keep it from opening a bunch of startup programs. Doing this would help me conserve battery, and its a drag to re-open and close these programs when moving from work to school.

Thanks

Use Automator.

Make a new Workflow. Under Actions > Library > Utilities, drag out the Launch Application action. Tell it the first application to launch. Repeat for all the applications you currently have as Startup Items. Save the Workflow as "Mass Launcher".

Make a new Workflow. Under Actions > Library > Utilities, drag out the Quit Application action. Tell it the first application to quit. Repeat for all the applications you currently have as Startup Items. Save the Workflow as "Mass Quitter".

Now you can launch and quit all the apps in one step, simply by running the Mass Quitter or Mass Launcher workflow.
