cloning advise needed

I am trying to move all my apps/data/settings/OS from an older iMac running Lion to a newer iMac currently running Snow Leopard and thereby trying to avoid having to install and configure everything from scratch including the new Lion OS X. Also thinking of cloning everything thats on the OS X Snow Leopard on the new iMac and installing that clone on the older iMac. Essentially I am trying to switch everything over from one iMac to the other and as a result switch over the OS Xs as well on both the iMacs. With the aid of Superduper but am not too sure if there will be any issues due to the fact that I am dealing with two different physical iMac builds which both happen to be intel, and would be grateful if someone could clarify this for me, thanks.

Older iMac : April 2008 / iMac8,1 / intel

Newer iMac : July 2010 / iMac11,3 / model No: A1312 / intel

Sorry, not a good idea.....see this article on subject....look under the second heading from the top of page....explains why....recommends using Apple's Migration Assistant in this case...
