I have a Quicksilver Tiger. I want to clone internal hard drive. I have no rxternal hard drive. Can I do the cloning with both drives internal? I want to clone to a 120gig drive. What software or application? Do I reformat? Am I concerned with setting master slave settings on the drives?
Thanks
Gene

You can either use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper! for cloning purposes. You can use any HDD (internal or external) you want, you can even clone from one partition on HDD 1 onto another partition on HDD 1.

This is how you format the HDD, but choose "Apple Partition Map" instead of "GUID" at step 4.

There is also no need for MASTER/SLAVE configuration, when the clone process is done, just go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select the HDD to boot from. Or when you start the Mac, hold down the OPTION key to get the choice from which drive you want to boot from.
