Cloning hard drive

Is there any particular reason I should use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my hard drive to a new hard drive I plan to upgrade with versus Disk utility? It seems like they do the same thing but I see several people recommending CCC. Why?

Its easy and been proven (as in above threads) as the best and most reliable HD cloner.
