I thought in iOS 8 you could close iCloud tabs by swiping. Doesn't seem to work for me.

Took me 30 seconds to find this:

To remove a tab from the iCloud Tabs list, close that tab in Safari on the device that shared the tab. Quitting Safari, putting your device to sleep, or turning your device off won't remove a tab from the list. If you can't access the device that shared the tab, the tab will automatically be cleared from the list after 14 days if the tab isn't updated.

Closing cloud tabs from other device works on Yosemite. It worked in the original iOS8. In iOS8.x.x you have to restart Safari on iOS8 device from which you are closing cloud tabs, for the change to take effect. Looks like a bug introduced after the initial release of iOS8.
