Hey guys,

i've owned a macbook for a few months now. when closed, my notebook responds with a cracking sound on the left side when i apply very light pressure with my fingers. nothing else can be heard on the right side or on the case. it sounds as if the case is in contact with the display and is giving way a little. what is the reason for this?

I also have an appointment at the apple store, but i doubt that they see it as a problem. the bottom line is that i want a flawless product.
It really drives me nutz. I have used it in total for like 5 charges.

2 things

could be small debris in the hinge
or
something crawled or found it's way underneath

airspray the hinge- carefully with quick strokes (rather than a continuous pointing one)
or
take off the back cover and inspect.

hoped this helped!

UP! Sent it to Apple a couple weeks ago, they couldnt find any issue and have not repaired it. The guy at Apple told me, that it is not a huge problem, so nothing will be damaged in future with constant usage. I still find it weird, why one side is not that "rigid" as the other one and can be pushed in.
