I need a reader/feed app for my Macbook, and I've gotta say, my favorite so far is Flipboard on iOS so I'm wondering if there's anything similar as far as interface and overall feel goes. I'm trying out Flipboard on Bluestacks, but it's not retina optimized and can sometimes be buggy, plus it's designed with touch devices in mind so it's not a good fit for a laptop. I don't mind running Flipboard on my phone and another application on the computer, sure I'll have to sync them separately but anyways Pocket is what keeps it all together for me. Any recommendations?

I'll reccomend ReadKit. No, it's not a Flipboard desktop clone, but it is a RSS feed reader that is very well designed. Its interface is very similar to the old mac app, Reeder, but this one will sync with many feeds such as Feedly and Fever. Another cool thing it does is that it integrates with Read Later apps too such as Pocket, Instapaper, and Readability. Check it out if you haven't.

It'll put you back $7 but I don't think you'll be let down.

You might take a look at Feedly.com. It has several configuration options that can make it look more like a magazine than a feed reader.

I am also using ReadKit mentioned by Jayem1234. It can syncs across device with Feedly and can be configured in many ways also.
