For a longer while I am noticing that various cloud apps are eating-up a lot of resources on my macOS. Usual suspects are: Dropbox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive, and PowerFolder. OneDrive seems to be particularly terrible. Its Bussiness version is even worse + it does not actually allow full share&sync (which I find very odd and not at all "work productive"!). GoogleDrive is not much better. Dropbox seems to work better and PowerFolder is instable (for long it works like a charm and then goes loose-cannon).
I have 50GB of iCloud but it does not give you the full functionality if you need to share with someone who, for example, cannot have the latest Catalina. With MS Windows things are even worse. More or less, I am using it as my "private cloud space".
I have been testing alternatives like ExpanDrive and MountainDuck. The latter two seem to be a bit gentler on the resources. ExpanDrive, however, is not perfectly stable and occasionally it just loses the connection (which then, at times, leads to its complete "confusion" in an attempt to sync).
What is your experience? What is your advice?
