I'm a PC guy with iOS mobile gear stepping into the Mac world. I have a rather substantial music library stored in OneDrive and have an iOS app named CloudBeats on my iPhone and iPad that works great - it easily plays all my music saved in OneDrive. But sadly CloudBeats is an iOS app only and I can't seem to locate anything similar for MacOS (at least nothing that doesn't require a monthly subscription). Most of my music is formatted as lossless FLAC files, which I understand is not supported by Apple Music. I don't want to convert the file format to ALAC and it would be difficult to do anyway considering the number of files.

I've done a fair bit of Googling but can't seem to find many options here. What are you Mac people using to play music saved in the cloud?

iOS apps can run on Apple Silicon, providing the author permits it. The info section of CloudBeats indicates that this is so.

Curiously, the free 'Lite' version claims to be not available for download for MacOS - but the paid version has an enabled 'GET' button. Too bad as the free version works very well on my iOS devices - it does everything I need without any ads or other limitations (I don't need the premium features like syncing between devices).

But considering this looks like the best / only app for my use case I may spend the few bucks if it does what I need. I've got no problem paying reasonable prices for apps if they are worth it.

EDIT - spent the $9.99 on the app and it seems to work just fine on the Mini despite being labeled as 'designed for iPad' and not approved for Mac. SoundSource can control /EQ the audio stream as expected. Too bad the free version wouldn't download, but seeing how well the app solves my needs the author deserves a few dollars ;-). If you're ever in need of a cloud music player, I recommend you give it a try! It's quite versatile, plays FLAC files and also understands folder.jpg album art so my folder based music library is easily navigated. But I suspect fewer and fewer people bother maintaining their own music library in this streaming age...

If you mount OneDrive as a drive, couldn’t you use any music player?
Cyberduck “Access your Onedrive without syncing to your computer.” https://cyberduck.io
ExpanDrive “ Mount your cloud storage as local drives” https://www.expandrive.com/download
Well, I guess I could lol. Funny, I looked into that and installed the OneDrive client for Mac... THAT was a mistake! It doesn't allow selecting the folders you want - it's basically everything, which is overkill (especially if you've got many, many folders and files).

I also did a minute or two of Googling on alternatives, but only found subscription priced apps or otherwise things that didn't look like they were going to work. But I did not see the Cyberduck option - that might work.

Thanks for the tip - even if I end up not needing it for music, this could still be a good solution to another issue.
