Recently my house was broken into, but luckily the criminal did not steal my external hard drives. This was a wake up call for me to investigate cloud storage to supplement my local backups.

My problem is that I am into video-editing, so I have about 634 GB to my name between my Macintosh HD and one external. MobileMe's iDisk is too small. Carbonite only works with internal hard drives. Mozy can work with externals, but they have to be permanently connected or else Mozy prepares missing files for deletion.

I've almost been considering buying an external hard drive and connecting it to my Dad's Airport Extreme to set it up as AirDisk, and using MobileMe to remotely access/update its contents remotely. And then there's this product called CloudStor that isn't out yet (http://www.buffalocloudstor.com/) that is also an external drive connected to a router for remote access (would be like an Airdisk except it doesn't require MobileMe for remote access). This way I can send my files off site to an external over the internet.

Any other users out there with lots of storage requirements who also use cloud storage for backup? I'd appreciate any advice.
