So I have my airport time capsule set up as a wireless harddrive for all my media and its working great at home....but is there any way to access the data on it when I'm not in range of the network its on? i.e when traveling...I asked around at the apple store and the genius I talked to gave me a vague answer, but he said I should be able to access the data remotely...any help would be greatly appreciated ty :)

Yes, just turn on Back to my Mac in Airport Utility and enter your iCloud info there.

There's just one caveat: to be able to take advantage of BtMM, your AirPort must be directly in Internet via it's WAN port.
That, in turn, will depend on your ISP, if you can or are allowed to do that.
If that fails, you need to set up port forwarding on your NAT router.
