So here is my problem.
Just bought a new monitor (Dell P2212hb) to use with my macbook pro (13in, mid-12). When I try to connect it to my mac, the external display does not recognize and also causes my MBP screen to go black. During this state, it doesnt seem recoverable (any keys that I press will not wake the computer up, unplugging the adaptor will also not wake return it back to an on state). I have tried unplugging the display and pressing the power buttong but that does not work either. I have to retart my computer each time by holding down the power button.
I am using a TB to VGA adaptor. I have tried the adaptor with a smaller monitor and have no issues running the smaller monitor so the adaptor should not be the issue. I have also connected this monitor to a PC and it has worked. I am not sure what the problem could be. =(
