Here is the strangest thing that drives me crazy: Since a few days apparently out of the blue the cmd-B to bold text stopped working throughout all applications, including the keyboard viewer. Other ones are still working (cmd-i, -u, -s etc). If I do a safe boot it works again and a test new user account does also not have that problem. So, it is something universal but limited to my user account. Was about 1.5 hours with Apple Tech support on the phone, got escalated 3 levels up, the guy locked even into my computer and finally did some data logging and is sending it to Apple software engineers as they have never seen such behavior. I also repaired all fonts that got corrupted with the FontBook. This is happening on a Rev C (2009) MBA with MacOS 10.6.7. No new software installed when I realized that it happened.
Any ideas, help highly appreciated as it is annoying in some programs to go always through the menus to get bold text.
