I can't delete folders from the Favorites column in Finder. The solutions I am reading about say to use Command and to drag the item to the trash or just out of the column. But this does not work. Is there another way when this fails?

I don't think you have to hold Command. Try just dragging the folder out of the column. Once you drag it far enough, a little puff of smoke icon should appear near your cursor. Hope that helps1
