I often find when using a keyboard with my iPad I’ll instinctively CMD-W the last window, or Q for quit.

Any chance these work on iPadOS 26? Not expecting it to force quit and app, but close the window or go back to Home Screen

So CMD-W will also close the tab you’re in in safari. Just found that out. CMD-H will always just take you home.

I knew about CMD W on the tabs, but hadn’t crossed my mind to try H.
Thanks.

CMD-W will force quit any app, as well as close any tab in Safari. If all tabs are closed CMD-W force quits Safari as well.

I swear I’d tried that and it didn’t, but of course now it works on any app in iOS 18… Thanks
