What's up guys,
I have 2 cMP 5.1(mid 2010) at home which I use primarily for work. One has a Sapphire Radeon RX580 in it and I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon RX5700 XT for the seconde one.
RX580 runs in Mojave, RX5700 XT runs in Catalina. I have a windows 10 drive in drive bay slot 2 in both of these cMP.
I am still a partial gamer (FPS) and still enjoy gaming a lot even though these young kids today are very very good and I feel old
So I played quite a lot on windows 10 with the RX580, almost exclusively playing Call of Duty Warzone, with decent results, something along 65+ Frame per second on average. It is not extraordinary obviously but enough too have an ok experience.
So I thought I would get better results with the RX5700 XT on the other cMP, unfortunately the RX5700 XT was kind of a bit worst which surprised me a lot obviously. I was getting slightly worst Frame per second on average.
So I benchmarked both cards in GeekBench 5 and Unigine Heaven in MacOS.
In GeekBench 5 under MacOS the RX5700 XT gets slightly ahead but not by much which surprised me also.
In Unigine the RX5700 XT is clearly ahead.
So my question is why the RX5700 XT can't really perform better in CoD Warzone compared to the RX580? Am I missing something? Both cards have the latest appropriate drivers from AMD website (Adrenaline).
There is one last thing I should mentioned about the RX5700 XT. I read quite a lot about it on here and I know I should power up the card with the Pixlas Mod, but I'm waiting for the cables to be shipped so I decided to give it a try nonetheless using one mini 6 pins to 6 pins and one mini 6 pins to 8 pins both connected on the logic board. It is not ideal I know.
Could it be that the card has not enough power to be fully exploited?
Again thanks a lot in advance to those who will answer.
