If you go to CNN's home page and look under the Technology heading there are 4 headlines that are all negative towards Apple. What is up with their Tech department?

Just for reference...

I don't know how they can call themselves reporting news when it's so obviously biased. Are they owned by Microsoft or Google?

It's trendy to hate Apple for some reason.

Apple is the one laughing though all the way to the bank with not only a ton of money, but the highest customer satisfaction rate so they have to be doing something right.

Yeah, exactly. Apple is kinda the one that's winning, what with them sitting on all that cash and making millions more all the time.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out the fallacies of the iPad 2

There are no fallacies thats the point. It does exactly what Apple said it will do, but CNN has been (and is still doing) nothing but bashing a device thats on top. Thats not good reporting. A list of pros and cons would be more appropriate for a news agency. Instead if you look at the articles it looks like some anti-apple kid wrote the things.

I go to BBC for this very reason. CNN tries to hard to be a portal at the expense of simply reporting stories neutrally, and passes off opinion pieces as "news". Reuters is even worse when it comes to reporting US political news neutrally.

At the same time, there was some point last year they were gung-ho for Apple and writing poorly about Blackberry or Windows Phone 7 or something.

Either way you cut it, it's not becoming for a news agency.

They are just trying to get a story. I bet on Friday they'll have tons of reports of large lines and how successful the iPad 2 is.

I dislike CNN, hate FOX. About a year ago I started following NPR and C-span.

but yeah bashing Apple gets ratings.

I like CNN but have never viewed any of those other things. Very true that anything Apple gets ratings.

Don't get all worked up. It's probably just a coincidence that all those stories are listed at the same time. I've read countless positive stories about Apple on CNN.

My question to you is why do care so much? This is Apple's problem (if there even is one) and its certainly not stopping people from buying their products.

There is plenty of negative coverage of other technology companies (read any reviews of the Xoom lately?)

LOL... in reading the Game Developers article, the actual headline was "Some game developers unhappy with Apple, Nintendo" - a good read.

The iPad2 camera was a rant from Wired about the rear facing camera. Why Apple even added it in the first place I don't know myself. Been having fun at work pretending that my iPad had a rear facing camera.

Seems like so much of what is reported as news on sites like CNN would be better served on blogs by the writers.

The camera is there so you can show what you're looking at when using Facetime. For example, your kid just started walking and you want to show your parents. It's for video, not taking pictures.

I am waiting to see some douche taking pictures with an iPad. I'll whip out my iPhone 4 and document that FAIL. :D

It's because Apple headlines grab way more attention than most other companies. They are the media's go-to company as far as tech goes. Their iconic, in a good way, not like MS which has really taken a beating to its reputation over the last decade.
