Hello,
I'm in the process of upgrading my Oct 2010 13" Macbook Air either to the newest Air, or maybe the Retina Macbook Pro. I'm going to sell my current Air. The problem is that I'm not likely to get much from selling my current computer since at some point I managed to spill something on the display (possibly Coca Cola), which I then stupidly did not immediately wipe away. By the time I did, it had apparently managed to corrode the glossy coating away from the spots where it had been. So, the display still works perfectly, but it doesn't look nice, since most of it is still original, nice matte/glossy, but there are visible clear, shining areas here and there.
A new display unit for these laptops is quoted around 600 Euro or so, which is more than I would ever gain from selling this laptop. Do I have any other options of getting this display into better shape? Can it be somehow re-coated or is there any kind of other third party fix available?
Btw.... do current model Airs and Macbook Pros have a more durable display surface? I don't have a routine of spilling Coca Cola on displays, but anyway would be nice
