Wow... this is way better than Games of Thrones at the fraction of the budget:

Cobra Kai is amazing. It's well done, and cheesy in a good way because it knows its true identity. It didn't even attempt to replicate the original Karate Kid, and the nostalgia trip was not overwhelming.
Can't wait for S2.

I showed it to my brother in law last weekend, we ended up watching the entire first season in one day the entire family, even my mom. There was always a cliffhanger lol. We finished at 11pm. The show is amazing! it takes you to some places you do not even imagine. Like when Daniel gives him his new car and they end up at the bar WTF? Looking at the Facebook page of this girl. And then the yellow old car he used to polish!

Well, that's the beauty of it. Daniel and Johnny are not really enemies, and not really that much different.
Given the ending, I think I see where the series is going [BIG, HUGE spoiler below that might ruin your enjoyment of the series]

Kreese will try to recruit Johnny, but somehow he will refuse. This will cause a split in the Cobra Kai's; most likely Hawk and some of the most vicious Kai's will join Kreese, and Johnny and Daniel will have to reluctantly help one another.
The question is: what will Miguel do??

Seriously, this is a good show? Never would have crossed my mind to watch this. Now thanks to you guys I'm considering it.

100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 95% audience score!
Yes, it's a good show if you liked the original The Karate Kid.
Now, this show does not try to be good, and it does not even attempt at being artistic or memorable. It's just pure fun, with a nice dose of nostalgia that doesn't oppress everything else. The characters really make watching this show worthwhile.

I hated the original Karate Kid. They stacked the deck against the bad guys AND didn't disqualify the good guy for an illegal strike. Daniel's crane kick should have been an instant DQ for kicking the face.
That one scene soured me to the entire franchise. Cheaters never win? Yeah, right.
I might give this show some TV time tough.

Yep, and Cobra Kai discusses that!! :)

I think it’s worth it. Just check the first couple of episodes.
