Hi I have had my macbook for over a month now and I just downloaded coconut battery and its telling me that my original capacity was 5200 mAh but that my current capacity is 5236 mAh. Thats kind of wierd isn't it? Or is that normal? I don't use it a ton on battery power but I do in little spurts and I've already ran it all the way down and charged it back up again besides the first initial calibration. It says 7 load cycles.

Not 100% sure but i think it takes 4-10 load cycles for a battery to reach its max capacity so this would indeed explain things.

It's completely normal...every battery I've ever seen has started out higher than its stated capacity. If only they would remain there...

I was thinking that because it would probably be hard to get the exact amount of the material in there everytime but wasn't sure so I just wanted to check.

Thanks guess my battery is doing pretty well for being over a month old.

I'v had my Macbook for just over 3 weeks and the battery is down to 5160 mAH....Is that normal? Keeping in mind it does also say that i've had 26 loadcycles..

Same thing happened with my PowerBook. After 6 months, I'm at 95% 'original' capacity.

I;m at 95% after the first day. Its at 4991mAH or so, which is more than where I started.

i've only had 7 load cycles and i'm already down to 96%...

Try running your laptop till the battery totally dies, then fully re-charging it, you will most likely get a higher readout of capacity from Coconutbattery after youve done that.

"about this mac" tells me i started with 5051mAh and i am now down to 5032mAh after 32 load cycles on my macbook. Its about 3 ish weeks old...

I am not sure how 'they' calculate the remaining percentage but I get 99% remaining from my calc hahha.....
