My computer's battery has been acting up for about 3 months. Basically, out of the blues it discharges super quickly while being plugged in and then my computer either goes to sleep or my screen goes black. Then when I try to charge it I have to play around with the adapter until I see the charging battery icon.

I though that when the adapter ring was is green it was charging, but mine changes colors from green to dark orange to light orange whenever it pleases. So I am not sure if the problem is with my battery or my adapter. BTW, I have tested it with 2 adapters and the same happens in both scenarios.

Now, I run the Coconut Battery program and I got this weird outcome under 'current battery capacity':
CURRENT BATTERY CAPACITY: 65424 mAH
ORIGINAL BATTERY CAPACITY: 4400 mAH

Under 'additional info':
BATTERY LOADCYCLES: 243
AGE OF YOUR MAC: 49 months

How can the current capacity is higher than the original? Do I need to get a new battery or change the adaptor? Are batteries expensive?

Please advise. thanks!

Maybe it's time to switch to a new battery...?
