CoD4- Game slows down when I shoot it seems?

I recently got CoD4 for my uMBP, a good game but I'd much prefer it on the Xbox 360. It seems to run fine on my computer, and it should because the specs seem fine, but Whenever I am shooting an automatic gun, it tends to slow down and shoot slower and it seems like everything just kinda slows down until I stop shooting...Does this happen to other people with the game? or is it just not running as well as it should be on my computer? Thanks!

It used to happen in my old MBP that had the 512MB 8600GT video card after a couple of hours playing. Which video card do you have?

The particle effects are pretty taxing on CoD4, also it should be noted that it could be from the depth of field effects.
