Hi,

I have recently purchased a new copy of windows 8.1 pro and installed it via boot camp assistant on my iMac Retina 5k along with the drivers which was prompted towards the end of the installation.

Everything was fine till I received a prompt that "no AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly...". I subsequently opened device manager and found the code 43 error.

Went to download the AMD boot camp driver off this site http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/bootcamp and installed it but I still received the same error

I have done some research and found others who have experience a similar issue but that was some time back about 5 months ago.

Here are the steps that I have undertaken to resolve the issue which were all unsuccessful:
1. reinstalled windows 8.1 twice
2. reinstalled windows 8.1 and cancelling the boot camp driver install. Installed the AMD driver separately
3. created the windows installer on a separate usb stick and reinstalled
*EDIT*
4. uninstalled the driver via device manager and reinstalled it again using both bootcamp drivers and AMD's latest driver

I am at my wits end on what to do next to get it to work. On one hand, the m290X works perfectly on OSX, on the other it cannot be detected on Windows 8.1. Therefore I am writing this thread to see if there is anyone who has successfully installed windows 8.1 with a M290X and if there is any solutions to this issue.

Specs for my iMac:
Intel i5 3.50ghz
1TB fusion drive
AMD R9 M290X
8GB Ram

TLDR: Tried to install windows 8.1 on retina iMac received a code 43 error for my graphics M290X. reinstalled multiple times even without the boot camp driver but to no avail. Is this a hardware or software error? Is there any solution to this?

Thank you in advance for your reply or help!
