My girlfriend spilled coffee onto my MBP charger while it was plugged and charging my machine...forgive me if I sound stupid (because I am) but will this have caused any damage to my laptop itself?

Most likely not. Just don't use the charger again, at least I wouldn't.

I haven't but I can tell you the cause of problems in the future if you use it. The sugar in the coffee or the liquid will cause corrosion - I'm sure it would if it were straight as well which can lead to shorts and general mayhem for your computer.

no not with coffee, and not on a Mac , but i once flooded a whole HP laptop while in use.... with coke
so i switched it off , cleaned it and let it dry for a day , switched it on , but
it only made some unusual noise , then it started smelling and then some smoke came out of the vents ..then it stopped working:confused:

Not sure if it's just my imagination but my battery seems to drain a lot faster after the spill on the charger. It drained from 100% to around 45% within an hour and a half of reg use..

I can see something like this happening to me at some point. I treat my MBP very well but I treat the power supply like crap for some reason.
The MBP is immaculate but the power supply is a total mess

I generally refrain from eating and drinking around expensive electronic devices.
