I can't for the life of me figure out how to FULLY set up my cogeco account for my 4S...I can get to the point where I'm able to receive but can't figure out how to send emails....can someone offer up an up to date guide on how to set this up?

Please and thank you!

I've done a little more research into this and I've read that Cogeco won't allow their services to be used on the iPhone...is this true?

Can someone please advise 1) if my above question is true or false...and 2) if it's false, please direct some sort of link towards a guide.

Please and thank you!

Does this work if you have a Rogers phone and not if you have a Bell phone?

I can't figure this out for the life of me!

This is a frustrating matter that i myself have dealt with.
I am with ROGERS and a family member is with BELL. Good news is....it works for both....but NOT if you use cogeco outgoing server....so follow these instructions step by step & you'll be good to go. best of luck!!

But I tried using that exact tutorial and couldn't get the outgoing mail to work...I tried using the outgoing server as bell.1.x (or whatever it is) with no luck. So can you tell me that you can send and receive cogeco email on your iphone using ios 6 with no problems being able to send mail?

Thanks for the response by the way!

and PS....when I try to select "MD5 Challenge-Response" it says the iphone won't accept it? For some reason????

I am with ROGERS. I can send & receive emails.
My father is with BELL, he can send and receive emails.
We both have cogeco email addresses.

Uhm, what also might help is ...connect your iphone to your computer, and in itunes select the phone...under the INFO tab scroll down to where you can check off "sync email accounts". make sure to do that.

also I do not use MD5 challenge...i have it set to password

SSL OFF (make sure of that)
Authentication - Password
Server Port 110 (thats the port that works for me and im in hamilton too)

more advice:

do this set up while on WIFI

restart your phone for settings to take place and emails should start to come in.

if you're still having trouble let me know and i can check my dads settings on his phone and get back to you.

As mentioned I'm not having issues receiving emails...only sending them.

I know I have the right email address/password...we get to a point were it says "Cannont connect using SSL...Do you want to try set up account without SSL?"

I have chosen yes and no...all with no difference.

I've tried entering 1x.bell.ca as the outgoing, while not being on wifi and it still won't send.

Can anyone help please?
