Recently found a cool new product called ColcaSac, super protective sleeves!
ColcaSac is one of the finest makers of the most rugged and tough pouches available for iPhone, iPod, MacBooks, iPads, and much, much more. I was recently able to obtain a sample of the Zagora sleeve for the iPhone 4. If you know me personally, then you would have recalled that I like to keep my iPhone super protected. Unfortunately, most of the rugged cases are a little bit too thick for my liking. I fell head over heals when I found out about the Zagora. Its super protective, has a very soft inner layer, and lets me rock my iPhone naked without me having to worry. Read on for the full review of the ColcaSac Zagora for the iPhone 4 to see if its the most protective pouch currently available on the market.
Lets go ahead and take a quick look at how one of the most protective pouches in the world is packaged. The packaging, which really isnt much of a package at all, if I do say so myself, is made out of brown paper. The paper is wrapped and folded over by a long piece of tape which has some fancy lettering that reads Handmade all the way across. Ripping the tape off you will find the Zagora sitting at the back just waiting to be used.
Since there really isnt a lot to talk about when it comes to down to buttons and access, I guess I could discuss some of the features of the pouch as well as how the iPhone behaves while inside the sleeve. While inside, the only portion of the phone that is exposed is the top layer, however, the phone is snug deep inside, not sitting outside at the top of the pouch like some other ones that I have reviewed. On the front of the sleeve you will find a charming stitched logo with the companys logo, which is nice and subtle, unlike some other overpowering logos that I have experienced.
As far as the design goes, I absolutely love it. Its simple, yet elegant at the same time. While I typically dont use a lot of pouches, I definitely feel like I use this a lot more than some of my more favorable cases. I love the added protection that the Zagora offers for my iPhone 4. I feel fully confident that my phone would be fine if it came into contact with something hard or had a minor fall. Even though this doesnt exactly make the phone bulletproof, it definitely adds more ruggedness than some of the more fancy, high end pouches, like the Sena Ultraslim or Krusell Donso Mobile Pouch.
One of my favorite things about the ColcaSac Zagora was the really soft lining on the inside. Even though I cant put my finger on it, it seems to be of a cotton (feels like fleece) like material, and a very good one at that. Every time I slip my phone inside of the case, the Zagora always helps in keeping my phone fingerprint free when I take it out. Another cool thing about the Zagora is the material that is used on the outside of the case, which is Hemp. Hemp is a very durable fibre that is only grown in Japan and adds a very good amount of protectiveness overall to the already durable sleeve.
I think the only thing that I have found that was a bit of a problem was the sheer size of the pouch itself. If you are a person who likes to keep your phone in a very slim and low profile type sleeve, then this is not the case for you. The average user may not enjoy the bulkiness this sleeve offers. However, if you are a power user that needs to take care of your phone to keep it looking like new, dont want to sacrifice the design of the iPhone 4 with a case, and want a pouch that is super protective, then you may have found the perfect accessory with the Zagora.
I would also like to mention that you should not forcefully insert and remove the iPhone from the Zagora, as doing so will result in ripped and damaged fleece. While walking into StarBucks, I was in a hurry to put my phone away and I noticed that after taking the phone out, a piece of fleece had caught on a part of the iPhone 4s antenna.
Overall, I can highly recommend the Zagora. For the last week, it has been my primary case. I love the fact that I can use my phone bare yet still keep it very well protected in a warm and snuggly case. The Zagora currently retails for $15.99 and is available on ColcaSacs website. There are tons of designs to choose from and a vast amount of device compatibility. Hit up the link to get your hands on the ColcaSac Zagora for the iPhone 4.
