I don't think Andy the Droid is copyrighted, which is why they're able to do this. A lot of the stuff they could make, like little Macs and the like, are. They've even got cease and desist orders for putting Jobs on iPhone cases.

I rotate my collection after I decide to complete the figurine by taking a bite out of it. It needs a special refrigerated case to look its best.

I'll be honest, kinda surprised there hasn't been much in the way of OSX-tan or iOS-tan out of the Japanese toy market.

I know Microsoft really tried to repair their image with an IE-tan.


For those who aren't weeaboos or otaku, "tan"s are anthropomorphic characters (usually made to look like girls/young women) for marketing purposes. The most famous at the moment is Hatsune Miku from Yamaha's music software line. She actually opened for Lady Gaga on her Tokyo stops on her current tour.

You could argue that pretty much every company has stuff like that. They're collectable because of the Apple logo, but I bet you other companies were ordering their logos on the same items aswell.

They have a book on their t-shirts through the years though... That's pretty crazy.
