Congrats!! for graduating and getting ur 1st mac! this one im typing on too is my first mac as well. i remember when i received it.....i wish i could replay that day over and over (unboxing, and 1st boot up) felt like christmas day ;) but anyways, what specs did u get?

Lola17 -- I think the new 13 inch MBP is the perfect choice for an incoming college student. My daughter gave my grandson a 13 inch MBP for his high school graduation. He is also going to college in the fall.

I believe that it is just the base configuration. My major doesn't really require much else. My computer before this was an ancient pc desktop, and I love how with this, I can bring it places and it's really portable. I'm typing this at work on a break right now =) Plus the OS is just beautiful.

Yea, that was actually really creepy, lol. Sucks that it was the first reply to my first post.

My grandson got the base model, too. To my way of thinking, that's the only way to go with the 13 inch MBP. After all, you get nothing for $300 more but marginal bumps in CPU speed and hard disc size, neither of which is enough to be meaningful in real world situations. The 2.4Ghz chip and 250Gb drive on the base model should be more than enough to see you through college.

How do we even know OP is a girl? I don't think they exist on the internet.

Oh and fake dad completely derailed this thread.

Oh my....it was just a joke, made me giggle.

No offence, but you Americans, have no sense of humour....

Congrats on the mac btw! :)
