I'm a college student, so basically...I'm poor.

I want to get a flat-screen LCD TV, probably around the 20-30" range, for my apartment. I'll just be using it to watch normal cable TV and for hooking my Wii up to it. I'd like to also occasionally hook up my MBP to it for some major geek orgasms.

Problem is, the cheapest such TV I can find is $550 from Dell. Do you guys have any tips for me?

Well, I don't know about quality when you start to get less than $550 for an LCD, but check out newegg's selection. There are 3 on there that are less than $500 and are 26/27-inches.

Here's a 19"-er for $429, free shipping. a 20" can be had for $6 more :p

newegg has a few for pretty cheap. That's a 26" for $470 (just wait for the rebate.. hah)

Good luck on your quest. :)

I really like the Olevia brand of budget LCDs. I picked one up for my college apartment around Christmas. I got a 30" LCD for around $450. It was a great bargain considering the feature set the TV has and its level of quality.

check out the viewsonics on newegg. i've one for a little over a year and i think it's pretty awesome for the price.
