In tutorials on using the operating systems built-in color calibration tools you are directed to begin with the color profile associated with said display, and if it not available to use the one with the most similarity. I had assumed that going through all of the steps in expert mode created a completely custom color profile. If that is not the case, what impact does the base profile have on the final result?
